Admin deep links: product, variant, JSON and bulk editor URLs
Shopify admin URLs worth bookmarking: product and variant pages, the product page as JSON, the bulk editor on one metafield column and short settings links.

In short
Shopify admin pages have stable URLs you can bookmark and share with staff: admin.shopify.com/store/<store>/products/<ID> opens a product, /products/<ID>/variants/<ID> a variant, and adding .json to a product page shows its raw data with every variant ID. A bulk editor URL such as /bulk?edit=metafields.seo.hidden%3Anumber&resource_name=Product opens one metafield column for all products. Staff still need permission for the page.
How to use it
- Copy your store name from the admin address bar: admin.shopify.com/store/<store>.
- Build the link: /products/<ID>, /products/<ID>/variants/<ID>, or the bulk editor URL with your metafield’s namespace, key and type.
- Bookmark the ones you use daily, or share them in your team’s docs.
- For a quick data check, add .json to a product page URL and read the variants array.

Limits and edge cases
- Links only work for staff who are logged in and have permission for that section.
- The bulk editor URL takes edit=metafields.<namespace>.<key>%3A<type>; Shopify’s help documents it with seo.hidden and number.
- Shopify’s help center links admin pages in a short form such as admin.shopify.com/discounts; use the /store/<store> form when you work with several stores.
- Admin layouts change; if a link opens the wrong screen, start from the list page and look for the same item.
Questions
- How do I link straight to a product in the Shopify admin?
- Use https://admin.shopify.com/store/<store>/products/<product ID>. The ID is the number at the end of the product page URL.
- Can I open the Shopify bulk editor with specific columns?
- For a metafield column, yes: /bulk?edit=metafields.<namespace>.<key>%3A<type>&resource_name=Product. For other columns, open the editor and use Columns.
- How do I see a product’s raw data in the admin?
- Add .json to the end of the product page URL; the browser shows the product with all its variants as JSON.
Shopify documentation
- Checked on a Shopify store on the date shown. Shopify changes its admin often; if a step looks different, the idea usually still works.
- Examples use placeholder IDs and your-store.myshopify.com. Replace them with your own.
