Shopify Commerce Engineering is Lintel’s deepest specialization. We build the custom parts of a Shopify store: custom apps, Shopify Functions, theme engineering and integrations, for stores that have outgrown off-the-shelf apps and theme limitations. We build on Liquid by default and recommend headless only when it pays for itself.
Who it is for
Merchants already selling on Shopify whose next step doesn’t fit an App Store app or a stock theme: a checkout rule the built-in discounts can’t express, a workflow that needs its own app, a catalog the theme can’t present, or other systems that need to talk to the store.

How we approach a Shopify store
- Platform first: logic that belongs in Shopify, such as Functions, metafields and metaobjects, goes there rather than into theme scripts or extra apps.
- Liquid by default. A headless storefront is recommended only when it pays for itself.
- Plan-aware: some capabilities, such as a custom app that contains Functions, need Shopify Plus. We check your plan in the first review.
When we are not the right fit
- A new store that only needs a theme installed and configured: a setup-focused partner will be quicker.
- Marketing, ads or email campaigns: we engineer the store, we don’t run campaigns.
- Rebuilding a working theme from scratch for its own sake.

- Is Lintel a Shopify Plus Partner?
- No. Lintel doesn’t claim a Shopify partner tier. Our founder’s three public apps are published through a Shopify Partner account: see the App Store listings.
- Do you only work on Shopify?
- No. Shopify is our deepest specialization, and we also build websites and web applications and mobile apps.
- Do you rebuild stores from scratch?
- Usually not. What a store has outgrown can normally be engineered into its existing theme and setup. When a rebuild or a headless storefront is the right call, we say so and explain why.
