This is the deep-taxonomy problem: a catalog sliced so finely that a flat product grid hides most of it, sold into several regions at once. The pattern makes navigation mirror the merchandising tree, keeps size ranges on equal footing, and lets one catalog serve every market. In the worked example, G-Line, modest office skirts divide into types, silhouettes and lengths ahead of sizing, next to denim, pants, tops and capsule drops, and the store serves 50+ European markets as well as Mexico, Canada and the US. Gencer organized menus and collection pages around that tree and used Shopify Markets for currency and language.
The problem
A plus-size shopper hunting for one exact silhouette needed a short path to it, with prices in her local currency and text in her language.
The storefront pattern
- Mega menu with several levels that mirrors how skirts and pants split by length and size
- Shopify Markets pricing in euro-region currencies, CAD and USD, plus English and Spanish storefront languages
- Plus-size collections placed on the same level as the standard size collections
- Product-linked social story tiles, customer photos in their own section, and a fashion guide
- A cart discount for any two items that applies automatically, with no code to type
