Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't my bundle or quantity break discount apply?

The theme only displays discounts. It never applies them. A saving at checkout comes from an automatic discount that you create in Shopify.

Check these things in order:

  1. Does an automatic discount exist? Go to Discounts and look for one that covers the product or collection. It must be an Automatic discount, not a discount code.
  2. Is it active? Check the start and end dates and that the status is "Active".
  3. Does the minimum quantity match the tier? For "Buy 2", the discount needs Minimum quantity of items set to 2.
  4. Does it apply to the right products? If you chose "Specific products" or "Specific collections", confirm the product is included.
  5. Is the percent the same? The tier's Discount setting and the Shopify discount value must match, or the totals will differ.
  6. Do other discounts conflict? Check the Combinations settings. Discounts that cannot combine will not stack.

Step-by-step setup is in Sell more and Bundle builder.

The product page says "Save 10%" but the price doesn't change. Why?

Two reasons are common:

  • The tier's Discount is 0. The label is free text, but the displayed total only changes when you set a Discount percent (or percent in the transom.tiers metafield).
  • The block shows a percent, but no automatic discount exists for it yet. The theme only displays savings; checkout applies them only after you create a matching automatic discount (see Sell more).

How do I assign a different product template to a product?

Open the product in Products, find Theme template in the Online Store panel, choose a template, and save. See Product pages.

How do I change fonts?

Open the theme editor, go to Theme settings > Typography, and pick a Heading font and Body font. The list is Shopify's font library, which means the fonts are licensed for your store and fast to load.

Fonts outside that library are not available in settings. Adding one means changing the theme's code, which a developer can do.

If headings look too big or small, use Heading size (80 to 130 percent). For capital letters, set Heading letter case to Uppercase.

Which languages does Transom support?

The theme's built-in text (buttons, cart messages, labels) is translated into nine languages:

  • English
  • Turkish
  • German
  • French
  • Spanish
  • Italian
  • Brazilian Portuguese
  • Dutch
  • Japanese

To offer a language, go to Settings > Languages in your Shopify admin, add it, and publish it. Customers can then pick it with the language selector in the header or footer. The selector shows only if you have more than one language published and the setting is on.

Your own content, such as product descriptions, headings, and announcement text, is not translated by the theme. Translate it in the Shopify Translate & Adapt app or another translation app.

How do I add 3D models?

  1. In Products, open the product.
  2. In the Media area, select Add and upload a 3D model file. Shopify accepts .glb and .usdz files.
  3. Save the product.

The product gallery then shows the model. Shoppers can rotate it, and on supported phones a View in your space button shows it in their room.

Tips: Smaller files load faster, so compress models before uploading. The theme loads the 3D viewer only on products that have a model, so other pages stay fast. Give the model a short description (alt text) in the media editor, since it is used as the model's name.

Why don't star ratings show on my product page?

The Rating block reads two product metafields: reviews.rating and reviews.rating_count. Review apps write them. If they are empty, the block hides itself. Install a review app that supports the standard review metafields, or fill them in yourself from real reviews. See Metafields.

Why aren't specifications showing?

The Specifications block shows only if at least one row has a value for that product. By default the rows read transom.material, transom.dimensions, transom.care, and transom.origin; check the Product metafield setting of each row in the block. Create the fields as described in Metafields, and make sure the namespace and key are spelled exactly.

The cart doesn't open as a drawer. What's wrong?

Check Theme settings > Cart > Cart type:

  • Drawer or Popup opens the cart in place when something is added.
  • Page sends the shopper to the cart page.

If you are already on the cart page, adding items refreshes it instead of opening a drawer. If the type is correct and nothing opens, an app may be blocking the add to cart form. Disable recently added apps one at a time to find it.

The free shipping bar shows the wrong amount in another currency

Goal amounts are entered in your store's default currency. For a shopper in another currency, the theme converts them using the current rate. Because your shipping rates in Shopify may use fixed prices per market, check that the rate for each market matches. See Cart goals.

Why isn't my countdown showing?

A countdown is hidden if the date is missing, not written as YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM (or YYYY-MM-DD), or already past. Check the End date and time in the Countdown block of the announcement bar. When the time runs out, the announcement is removed on purpose. The timer never resets.

How do I add filters to my collection pages?

Filters come from Shopify's free Search and Discovery app. Install it, set up the filters you want, and choose a Filter layout in the Product grid section (Sidebar, Above products, or None).

Why don't complementary products show?

The Complementary products block, and the Bought together block when it has no transom.fbt list, use the Search and Discovery app's complementary product settings. Install the app and set complementary products for your product. Alternatively, fill in the transom.fbt metafield and the Bought together block will use that list.

How do I turn the sticky add to cart bar off?

Open the Product information section in the theme editor and turn off Show sticky add to cart bar. This is set per product template.

Can I switch presets later?

Yes. Use the preset (style) picker in the theme editor's theme settings. Switching replaces the theme settings with the preset's values, so duplicate your theme first as a backup, and re-check your pages afterward. See Choose or switch a preset.

Can I use apps with Transom?

Yes. Transom supports app blocks in the product information section, in Rich text, and in Beam and columns, plus a Custom Liquid section and block for app snippets. Add apps from the Shopify App Store, then add the app's block in the theme editor.

Can I request a feature?

Yes. Send a feature request describing what the theme should do and how it would help your store; a link to an example helps. We read every request. Ideas that help many stores and fit Shopify's Theme Store requirements are planned into future versions, and theme updates are free. We can't promise a feature or a date.

How do I get support?

Read this guide first: most questions are answered here. If you're still stuck, send a support request with your store URL, the page where you see the problem, and a screenshot. You can also email info@lintelagency.com.

Support policy:

  • Every request gets a reply by email, Monday to Friday, on Türkiye time (UTC+3).
  • Support covers setting up and using Transom's own features, and fixing bugs in the theme.
  • It doesn't cover custom code changes, third-party apps, or store design work.
  • Theme updates are free. Install them from Online Store > Themes.
